Lebanon’s Iran-backed armed group Hezbollah has launched simultaneous rocket and drone attacks on at least 9 Israeli military installations. For the second day in a row, the group claimed the attack on an Israeli military installation from Lebanon’s southern border area on Thursday.
A senior Hezbollah field commander was killed in an Israeli military strike on Tuesday. In retaliation for that attack, Hezbollah attacked Israeli military installations on Thursday. A Lebanese security source said Thursday that Hezbollah carried out its biggest attack on an Israeli military installation since October.
In a statement, the Iran-backed armed group said Hezbollah fired Muhurmuhu Katyusha and Falak rockets at six Israeli military positions. Hezbollah-controlled Yemeni media al-Manar television reported more than 100 rockets fired simultaneously.
Hezbollah’s statement said drone strikes hit the headquarters of Israel’s Northern Command, an intelligence headquarters and a military barracks.
Lebanese security sources told Reuters that at least 30 “attack drones” were launched simultaneously into Israel; This is Hezbollah’s biggest drone attack so far in the eight-month war between Israel and Hamas.
