At the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the United Nations, Narendra Modi said, ‘Today I am here with the voice of one-sixth of humanity. We have lifted 250 million people out of poverty in India and we have shown that sustainable development can be successful. We are ready to share this experience of success with the Global South.’
Modi said the success of humanity lies in our collective strength, not on the battlefield. “Reform” of international institutions is necessary for the sake of world peace and development. ‘Reform’ is the key to relevance.

Earlier, Narendra Modi addressed expatriate Indians at the Nassau Coliseum in New York on Sunday. Appreciating diaspora Indians, Modi said at that time, “I always understand the capabilities of diaspora Indians.” I understood this even when I was not in any government position … To me you all are powerful brand ambassadors of India. That’s why I call you ‘Ambassador’.
“To the world, AI means artificial intelligence, but to me, AI also means the American-Indian spirit,” he said. This is the new ‘AI’ power of the world… I salute the diaspora Indians living here.’
