Kidnapped manager of Sonali Bank rescued in Bandarban

Nizam Uddin, manager of Sonali Bank’s Ruma branch in Bandarban, was rescued 48 hours after the abduction.

Commander Khandaker Al Moin, Director of Legal and Media Wing of RAB Headquarters, confirmed the matter on Thursday (April 4) evening.

Last Tuesday (April 2) around 8 pm, an armed group of hill terrorists attacked the Sonali Bank branch in Ruma Upazila during Tarawih prayers. At that time, the bank manager Nizam Uddin was abducted from the mosque after looting 14 weapons of the police and Ansar members of the bank.

Ruma Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Shahjahan said that no case has been registered in the Police Station regarding the attack by terrorists of hill armed groups, robbery of arms and kidnapping of the bank manager.
