13 cows and 3,500 chickens of a farm were burnt to death in a fire at Shivchar in Madaripur. On Tuesday (June 11), a fire broke out in Milon Munsi’s cow farm in Kalikhola area of ​​Umedpur union of the upazila at around 3 pm. The victim farmer said that there was a loss of around 50 lakh rupees. However, the cause of the fire is not known.
According to local residents, the fire may have started due to short circuit of electricity. However, the locals demanded to investigate whether it was sabotage.

Eyewitnesses said that the first fire broke out in Milon Munsi’s cow farm on Tuesday night. 14 cows were tied in that farm. Sensing the fire and cutting the rope, a cow runs away. But when the flames spread within moments, the rest of the cows and chickens in the farm were burnt to death.
Milon Munshi, the owner of the farm, said that the cows were prepared for sale during Eid al-Adha this year. I reared the cows with great difficulty. The cows were supposed to be taken to market today. But in the night, 13 cows of the farm and about 3500 chickens of the neighboring chicken farm were burnt to death.

Umedpur Union Parishad Chairman Nuruzzaman Munshi said, “We are demanding an investigation from the local administration whether the fire was an accident or vandalism.”
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibchar police station Subrata Goldar said, the police visited the spot. The matter will be investigated and action will be taken.
