Linkin Park is officially returning to the stage, announcing a headlining tour starting on September 11 at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum. This marks their first live performances since the tragic loss of lead vocalist Chester Bennington in 2017. In his absence, the band has introduced Emily Armstrong, from Dead Sara, as their new co-vocalist. Additionally, Colin Brittain, a songwriter and producer for G Flip, joins as the band’s new drummer.
Accompanying this announcement is the release of Linkin Park’s first new song in seven years, “The Emptiness Machine,” which debuted during a livestream event. Their highly anticipated new album, From Zero, is set for release on November 15.
Building Anticipation
The band hinted at their return last week through Instagram, sharing a cryptic video of a countdown. They followed it with a distorted teaser video and a mysterious message on their website, encouraging fans to “be part of something.”
Moving Forward After Loss
Linkin Park last performed in 2017 during a tribute concert for Bennington. Reflecting on that event, Mike Shinoda shared how emotionally challenging it was but acknowledged the healing impact it had on fans. The band’s decision to move forward reflects a new chapter while honoring their past.
