Nicolas Cage, known for his role in “National Treasure,” has voiced his fears about artificial intelligence (AI) in a recent interview with The New Yorker. Despite having his body scanned for future projects, Cage expressed his anxiety, stating, “They’re just going to steal my body and do whatever they want with it via digital AI.”

Previous AI Experiences in Film

Cage has had previous encounters with AI in the film industry. He discussed how his brief appearance as Superman in “The Flash” was altered by AI, showing him fighting a giant spider—something he never actually filmed. Cage described the experience as “a nightmare” and “inhumane,” highlighting his discomfort with the technology.

Broader Hollywood AI Criticism

Cage joins a growing number of Hollywood actors criticizing AI, particularly after last year’s SAG-AFTRA strike over its use. While Cage admits he hasn’t been as vocal as some of his peers, his concerns about AI are clear. Notably, he was digitally de-aged using AI for the 2022 film “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent,” where he played both a down-on-his-luck version of himself and a younger, spectral self.
