One of the most terrifying horror films in recent years, Nosferatu, is now available for streaming. Directed by Robert Eggers, the film stars Bill Skarsgård as the eerie Count Orlok, alongside Willem Dafoe, Lily-Rose Depp, and Nicholas Hoult.
A reimagining of the 1922 silent horror classic, Nosferatu has been praised for its haunting visuals and deep psychological horror. The film, nominated for four Academy Awards, has become Eggers’ most successful box office release to date, following his acclaimed films The Northman, The Witch, and The Lighthouse.
Although still showing in select theaters, Nosferatu has officially launched on digital platforms. Horror fans can now rent or purchase the film on Prime Video.
Skarsgård, known for his chilling performance as Pennywise in It, revealed that playing Count Orlok left a lasting impact on him. Speaking to Empire, he admitted that the role was so unsettling that he never wants to portray such an evil character again. “It really affected me. Orlok is an occult sorcerer, and it did a number on me,” he said.
The film has earned widespread critical acclaim. The Independent’s critic, Clarisse Loughrey, praised Eggers’ commitment to preserving the eerie essence of the original film while making it accessible to modern audiences. “Eggers’ interpretation is a luxurious, Gothic revelation—one of the most profoundly frightening horror films in years,” she wrote.
With its striking cinematography, unsettling atmosphere, and deeply immersive storytelling, Nosferatu is a must-watch for horror enthusiasts seeking a truly chilling experience.
