Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun requested the public not to undertake risky Eid journeys on the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
He said this while talking to reporters after inspecting security and traffic management on the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr at Syedabad Janpath intersection on Sunday (April 7) afternoon.

Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said, special pressure is seen in Dhaka city during Eid. People travel from Dhaka to different parts of the country on Eid holidays. We have noticed that the Eid journey has already started. We expect the big rush of Eid passengers to start from tomorrow. There will be a pressure on passengers going out of Dhaka till April 10. All units of the police are working together to make the Eid journey of the people comfortable. All members of the police are ready and working together to ensure the safe journey of Eid passengers. Our senior officers are supervising the police members who are working at the field level. All concerned ministries have coordinated a meeting to make the Eid journey comfortable. Besides, the police is also holding a meeting in coordination with the concerned parties.
At this time, he requested not to take a risky Eid journey and said, we want to tell the passengers that you should not be a passenger of any vehicle at the risk of your life. We are all traveling with pulse to share the joy of Eid with our relatives. None of us want to visit relatives after an accident. Many people are seen doing various risky Eid journeys including trucks. Therefore, we would request everyone not to risk Eid journey.
