During a meeting at Bangabhaban, the President hosted a delegation from BUTEX, led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Engr. Shah Alimuzzaman Belal. President Shahabuddin highlighted the textile sector’s pivotal role in Bangladesh’s economy, being a leading source of foreign exchange earnings.

Enhancing Global Competitiveness of Bangladeshi Textiles

The President stressed the importance of modernizing and diversifying the textile industry through skilled textile engineers. He encouraged collaboration among entrepreneurs, investors, and engineers to elevate the international stature of Bangladeshi textile products.

The BUTEX team shared insights into the university’s academic endeavors and history, noting its foundational support from the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and its establishment as a textile university by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 2010.
