Royal Engagement in Bangkok Yesterday afternoon, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was warmly received by King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida of Thailand at Dusit Palace’s Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall. The meeting highlighted the enduring friendship between Bangladesh and Thailand, with Prime Minister Hasina expressing optimism for enhanced bilateral cooperation.
Advocating for Sustainable Development at UNESCAP Earlier in the day, during the 80th session of UNESCAP held at the ESCAP Convention Centre, Prime Minister Hasina delivered a significant address. She emphasized Bangladesh’s integration of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its national development agenda. She outlined achievements in reducing poverty, advancing food security, improving maternal and child nutrition, and boosting quality education.
Discussions on International Cooperation Following her address, Prime Minister Hasina met with Ms. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, the Executive Secretary of UNESCAP. They discussed ways to deepen cooperation under the United Nations framework to help Bangladesh meet its SDG targets. Additionally, she visited the Bangladesh exhibition themed ‘Digital to Smart Bangladesh 2041’ at the ESCAP premises.
Upcoming Diplomatic Talks Today, Prime Minister Hasina is scheduled to meet with Thai Prime Minister Srethha Thavisin at the Government House, aiming to discuss further collaborations between the two nations.
