Soni Rahman: From Assistant Director to Leading Actor

Soni Rahman is known for his supportive nature towards industry professionals. He is a versatile actor, model, and director, and owns ‘Soni Communications.’ Rahman, the eldest son of late school teacher Abdul Sattar Morol and Shamima Afroz from Monohardi, Narsingdi, embarked on his acting career nearly two decades ago with the drama series ‘Khondochitro.’

Early Career and Breakthrough Starting with ‘Khondochitro,’ written by Pronab Bhatt and directed by Monir Hossain Jibon, Soni had the chance to work with notable artists like Monir Khan Shimul and Tarin Jahan. Despite his early acting roles, his focus shifted behind the camera. From 2004 to 2011, he dedicated himself to working as an assistant director. After completing his honors in History from Narsingdi Government College, Rahman redirected his passion towards acting and directing.

Recent Works and Future Aspirations Since 2018, Rahman has acted in several films, including the late Masum Aziz’s ‘Sanatan Golpo,’ Mizanur Rahman Mizan’s ‘Ragi,’ Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar’s ‘Dusshahoshi Khoka,’ and Aminul Islam Bacchu’s ‘Phuljan.’ Upcoming projects include Shabnam Parveen’s ‘Hurmuti’ and Mizanur Rahman’s ‘Tolpar.’ Soni Rahman also made his mark as a model in various advertisements, starting with Abhik Rahman’s ‘Pran Mister Mango.’

Soni Rahman’s Vision Reflecting on his journey, Soni Rahman states, “By the grace of Allah and after much hard work and effort, I have reached this position today. My dream is to continue acting for life and work in compelling dramas and films. I am grateful for the support I’ve received from many people along the way.”
