The iconic 1981 movie “Jibon Nouka,” directed by Masud Parvez (Sohel Rana) and starring Sohel Rana and Suchorita, featured the beloved song ‘Tumito Akhon Amari Kotha Vabcho,’ originally sung by Sabina Yasmin. This song, lip-synced by Suchorita, became a staple on radio and television, frequently requested by listeners and performed by various artists across Bangladesh. The lyrics were penned by Gulbanu Khan, and the music composed by Alam Khan.

A New Voice for a Timeless Tune

Recently, Sharmin Sumi received the honor of singing this timeless song with a fresh musical arrangement by Fuad Naser Babu. Released on the anniversary of Alam Khan’s passing as part of ‘Alam Khan the Melody King,’ Sumi’s rendition has resonated deeply with audiences. Known for her expressive delivery and emotional depth, Sumi has received widespread acclaim for her performance.

Artists Reflect on the Journey

Fuad Naser Babu praised Sumi’s dedication, stating, “Sumi has put her heart into this song. Ultimately, the listeners’ appreciation will determine its success. Her passion and emotion have left a strong impression on me.”

Expressing her gratitude, Sharmin Sumi shared, “On the anniversary of my revered teacher Alam Khan’s death, I wanted to honor him through this song. It’s a dream come true to sing under the arrangement of my mentor, Fuad Naser Babu Bhai, and with the blessing of Arman Khan Bhai. I hold Sabina Yasmin Madam in the highest regard and always dreamed of performing this song. The audience’s judgment of my rendition is what matters most, but getting to sing this cherished song is a significant achievement for me. I hope listeners forgive any imperfections in my performance.”
