In December 2022, Celine Dion first revealed that she was suffering from a complex neurological disorder. She said that she is going through various physical and mental complications due to this disease.
Then she said in an Instagram post, “The body is not going well for many days. Recently diagnosed with Stiff-Person syndrome after tests. Due to this disease there is a problem in walking and singing. Unfortunately this problem affects all areas of my life. I can’t sing using my voice.’
This disease mainly causes muscle tension. As a result, there is no control over the muscles. The total recovery rate for this disease is not very high. Celine Dion says she is working with a therapist every day to recover.
A report of the singer’s video message was published by the BBC, where Stiff-Person syndrome is an extremely rare disease, which is incurable.
