The bodies of three people who were buried by a dune collapse in Chamelibagh residential area of Majortila in Ward No. 35 of Sylhet metropolis have been recovered. The bodies were recovered around 1:25 pm on Monday (June 10).
The deceased are Agha Karim Uddin (31), his wife Shammi Akhtar Ruji (25) and son Nafji Tanim (2). Sylhet City Corporation Public Relations Officer Sajlu Laskar confirmed the matter.
The bodies are in Sylhet M.A.G. Sent to Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Jahangir Alam, Ward Councilor No. 35 of Sylhet City Corporation, said that the mound collapsed with a loud noise around 6 am today. At this time, five members of two families were buried. On receiving the information, the fire service, police, city corporation personnel started the rescue operation. Later, the army joined the rescue operation. Among them, two members of a family were rescued alive.
