Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will resign for the sake of the country if she wants. He said this in response to a question in the briefing of journalists in the meeting room of the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Secretariat on Saturday (August 3) night.

Recently they (the agitators) have also demanded the resignation of several ministers including you. You are worried about the situation, the people are also worried. In response to a journalist’s question, the Home Minister said, “If such a situation arises, if the need arises, if the Honorable Prime Minister thinks… we are always working for the country.” Kari, we will do that (resignation) if the Prime Minister thinks so.’

Meanwhile, curfew will continue in Dhaka district and metropolis, Gazipur and Narsingdi, said Asaduzzaman Khan.

He said that Jamaat-e-Islam and BNP were always engaged in destructive activities. From the beginning they wanted to make the country ineffective. That is why students are urged to go back to education. Because all their demands have been fulfilled. Even after that if they have any demands then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s door is always open.

The minister said, let me make it clear, our mourning month is going on. August 21 is the month of grenade attacks. We observe the month as a month of mourning. It has been going on since Bangabandhu’s martyrdom.
