Banglalink, a prominent mobile operator, has officially discontinued its 3G network services. This strategic move is aimed at enhancing the efficiency and capacity of its 4G network across Bangladesh.
Enhancing User Experience
In a recent press release, Banglalink announced the cessation of its 3G services as of last Sunday. The company’s CEO, Eric Aus, stated that this shift would allocate more resources to the 4G network, ensuring superior and uninterrupted connectivity for users, and facilitating innovative service offerings.
Future-Ready Network
The transition away from 3G aligns with the broader industry trend towards more advanced networking technologies. The former Post and Telecommunication Minister, Mustafa Jabbar, had previously outlined plans to phase out 3G services starting from 2023, including halting the import and production of 3G devices.
