Jagannath University (JUB) law student Fairuz Avantika has been arrested by the police, assistant proctor Deen Islam and classmate Amman Siddiqui.
DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman confirmed this information to Dhaka Post on Saturday (March 16) night.
Meanwhile, since Friday (March 15) night, tension has been going on in the Jagannath University campus over the suicide of Fairuz Avantika. Avantika’s classmates and general students of the university staged a protest on Saturday raising 6-point demands in this incident. They have given a 24-hour ultimatum to the university administration to implement the demand.
One of the coordinators of the movement, Ivan Tahsiv, a third-year student of the university, said, “We have given 24 hours time to the university administration to implement our 6-point demand, including the arrest of the accused. If the demands are not implemented within this time, the vice chancellor’s office will be surrounded on Monday at 11 am.
